Margaret Bruziak Hopkins was born in Poland where she began violin and piano studies. She received a B.M. in Performance and Education from University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

She received extensive Suzuki training at numerous universities in the USA. Margaret has performed in various countries throughout Europe, Canada and the United States. She has been active in promoting music education in lead positions at Maine Music Educators Association, Maine American String Teachers Association, and Maine Suzuki Association.

Margaret has recently retired from teaching strings in public schools. She maintains a busy performing schedule with the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra as the concertmaster, Deep Blue C Studio Orchestra, Bangor Symphony, Portland Ballet, Maine Pro Musica, Opera Maine, Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra, the New Hampshire Music Festival, New Hampshire Philharmonic, and she freelances in the New England area. She is the violinist with the Artful Noise String Quartet and the Lakes Region String Quartet.
