Andy Cico is a singer, actor and voice teacher from Hampton, New Hampshire! He holds his BA in music from Drew University and his MM in voice performance and pedagogy from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has studied with master pedagogues as both a performer and a teacher and is excited to continue teaching at SAM! Andy has been a performer on the seacoast for over ten years. He has been singing since high school and has performed in many different contexts including choir, a capella, musical theatre, opera and even some metal! Andy is a frequent performer at many theaters on the seacoast such as the Prescott Park Arts Festival, Firehouse Center for the Arts and most recently the Seacoast Repertory Theater. While his primary experience is in musical theatre, having taught voice professionally for two years with Stagelights Youth Theatre Company in Greensboro NC, Andy is comfortable teaching a variety of styles having further experience with classical music, pop, folk and many types of rock music. Andy is also an instrumentalist playing bass guitar, some piano and most recently beginning to teach himself guitar! 

Andy is a strong believer in and practitioner of science and evidence based voice pedagogy. His methods focus on the physiological process of vocal production, creating ease of production through release of tension and proper airflow, clarity of tone through resonance sensation tracking and unique performances through the embrace of each student’s natural vocal quality. His main teaching influences are Dr. Scott McCoy, Dr. Meribeth Bunch-Dayme and his own former teachers Dr. Robert Wells and Evan Stenzel. Teaching is one of Andy’s greatest joys in life and he is excited to continue helping foster the skills and passions of artists of all ages through SAM!
