Folk and Fiddle Fest


After the successful concert series from last year’s “Up Close and Musical” performances at the Seacoast Area Libraries, we will be continuing this February with:

 

Folk and Fiddle Fest

 

Saturday, February 11th

 


The Folk and Fiddle Fest will take place at 105 Post Road in North Hampton at Centennial Hall. It features a pot luck, folk dancing, and beginner, intermediate, and advanced training with folk musician and educator, Greg Boardman.

Advanced participant $50

Advanced players can play reels up to dance tempo, four notes per beat at up to mm108. They will get a jig or two as well, three notes per beat at mm 108.

Intermediate participant $40

Intermediate players will play polkas (two notes per beat), a simple jig, a schottische (moderate tempo in 4/4) and a waltz.

Beginner participant $35

Beginners will get three simple polka type tunes.

1:00-2:00 Advanced Players Only

2:00-3:00 Add Intermediate Players

3:00-4:00 Add Beginning Players

4:00-5:00 Families dance with students playing music.

5:00-6:00 Pot Luck

7:00-8:00 Greg Boardman presents a Concert of folk music with history and demonstration. Suggested donation of $10.
