
Lucy Fillery-Murphy
Lucy Fillery is originally from the UK, where she studied music at Southampton University and was a member of the SU Symphony, Jazz & Chamber Orchestras, as well as the Cordelia String Quartet. She recently relocated with her family to West Newbury from Prague, where she furthered her studies at the Prague Conservatory and was based for many years. Lucy is a versatile musician, composer and teacher; she has written music for short films, video game trailers and animation, including the award winning ‘Bark, George’ narrated by John Lithgow. Lucy has performed, toured & recorded with various Prague based bands & musicians including: Deep Sweden, Colorfactory, Ohm Square, Ecstasy of St Theresa, MLM, The Yellow Sisters, Sonority, Mythematica & Kiva amongst many others.
Lucy has written & performed improvised music as well as scores for many multimedia, modern dance, & theatre productions, most notably for the highly acclaimed Prague Shakespeare Company’s production of Hamlet. She has also written and arranged music for the Prague Symphony Orchestra to record. Lucy has done many string arrangements and session recordings for film scores, documentaries, and commercials (including for composer, Jan P. Muchow). Since moving to West Newbury, she has also been playing live cello and singing with ‘Full Moon Friday’ yoga classes at the Giving Tree Wellness Studio. As a music teacher, Lucy caters her lessons to each student’s needs and interests. She likes seeing her students’ progress, and it is very important to her that they enjoy their lessons and play music that they love! Lucy has sixteen years experience in teaching the cello, piano and singing. She has been an instructor at various independent schools in South East England, such as King Edward’s, Witley, Churcher’s College, Petersfield, & St. Edmund’s, Hindhead, as well as privately, and at the International School of Prague
