Age appropriate music-making & movement will be offered to each group. Two or three countries (or regions) from two continents will be explored each week. Instructors will offer activities geared either toward the culture of the selected countries (or regions) or toward a historical period of interest in those countries (or regions). Campers will learn basic note reading/solfege/rhythms while learning children's songs in Italian (language component). In movement, children will move to music of the Renaissance, learning dances that originated in Italy (e.g. tarantella). The creative drama component will engage students in integrating historical story telling with art projects, dance and musical literature. |
